Obituary

Wanda Jean Willms of Kingfisher passed away August 1, 2021. She was born to Melvin and Beulah Dunkelberger on May 9, 1934 in Cashion, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated Cashion High School in 1952. Following HS graduation, she moved to Kingfisher and then began working at Enix Drug. She married Ralph Willms in 1954 and continued working at Enix Drug until the birth of her daughter, Janet, in 1961. Wanda was an avid reader, gardener, and seamstress all while managing the household on the farm/ranch in the Big Four area where she lived with Ralph and Janet. She was a volunteer with the Kingfisher Meals-On-Wheels. She was also known as a fabulous country cook with many in the area looking forward to any opportunity to dine at her table. Later in her life, Wanda became an avid sports fan following OU sports and NBA games with one of her favorite players being Blake Griffin. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Wayne and her husband Ralph. She is survived by her daughter, Janet, son-in-law, James (Randy) and her grandson, Blake Briscoe. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, August 7th, at 10:00 am at the Kingfisher Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in her name to the Kingfisher Emmanuel Lutheran church or to the Kingfisher Meals-On-Wheels. She will be missed by the surviving family and the local community.
