Following his agricultural career, Steven continued to apply his skills in various roles, including positions with Standridge John Deere in Chickasha, A&M Supply in Oklahoma City, and First Presbyterian Church of Oklahoma City. He resided in Yukon from 1999 to 2018, and in Warr Acres from 2018 until the time of his passing.
Steven was a gifted engineer and builder, known for designing and constructing buildings on his property. He was skilled in construction trades, woodworking, welding, landscaping, and gardening, and was admired for his craftsmanship.
Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy L. Smith, and his beloved wife, Judy Larita Kendall.
He is survived by his father, Norman R. Smith; his son, Ryan Smith, and daughter-in-law, Sarah Naifeh-Smith; grandchildren, Owen Smith and Marlow Smith; his brother, Robert Smith and wife Sharon Smith; his sister, Sylvia McKellar; and his sister, Katherine Nelson, and her husband, Bill Nelson, all of Oklahoma City.
