Ruth Edna Ellyson, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Cimarron Nursing Center in Kingfisher. She was born to parents Ethel and Willard Eaton on December 18, 1927. After graduating high school she continued her education at John Brown University. Ruth had a passion for music and she became a talented pianist. She used her musical talent to praise God and serve the community for many years by playing the piano and organ at several churches she attended.

Ruth worked at Kingfisher Agriculture Supply for 9 years as a bookkeeper and secretary. In 1980 she opened her own bookkeeping, answering service, and Western Union Business. In 1988 she added to her business ventures by opening the House of Ceramics on Main Street in Kingfisher. Ruth finally retired from her business in 1999.

Ruth always kept a smile on her face and she knew how to make life fun even when times were hard. She will always be remembered for the love she gave to her family, her cheerful sense of humor, and for her ability to comfort others during times of need.

Ruth was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Joe, brothers Virgel and Harry Eaton, half-sister Effie Alice Hartley, granddaughter LaVana Thompson, great grandsons Jared Edge, Kevin Kizarr, Marlon Thompson, and Jeffery Thompson.

Left to honor Ruth and remember her love are her 3 children: daughters Barbara Rogers and husband Charles; Joann Oliver and husband Roy; son Robert Ellyson and wife Karen and her 2 step daughters Clairetta Lowe and husband Wayne and Jeannetta Kottwitz. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 32 great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Cimarron Nursing Center staff and the staff at Valir Hospice for the love and care they gave her.

Visitation will be Tuesday & Wednesday 9am - 7pm at Sander's Funeral Service 124 E. Broadway, Kingfisher, Oklahoma.

The Funeral Service is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Cashion, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at the Kingfisher Cemetery.
