Ralph Lee Kooken, 85, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away at his home on June 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and the memories of a life well lived.

Born on November 24, 1940, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Ralph was the son of Paul Roy Kooken and Rose Elizabeth (Sockler) Kooken, who preceded him in death.

On life's journey, Ralph found his greatest companion in Carol Jean (Botts) Kooken, his devoted wife and best friend. Their marriage was a testimony of love, commitment, and faithfulness.

Ralph was also preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Bonnie Jean Kooken; his sister, Rosemary (Kooken) Proctor; his brother, Paul Mark Kooken; and his nephew, Kevin Neal Kooken.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Carol Kooken; his nieces and nephews Mark Lee Payne (Deborah), Harold Ross Payne (Susan), Bonnie Rose Halverson (Clayton), Nina Jo Ryan (Dana Kelly), Deborah (Kooken) Goss (Gregg), Paula (Kooken) Simon, Paul Mark Kooken Jr., and Michael Lee Kooken, along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Ralph graduated from Kingfisher High School and continued his education at the University of Oklahoma before transferring to Oklahoma State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He proudly served his country in the Oklahoma National Guard, reflecting a lifelong commitment to service.

Throughout his life, Ralph enjoyed a successful and diverse career. He worked as a banker, an automobile salesman, served with the Jackson County Juvenile Court in Kansas City, Missouri, and later worked in Business Solutions for Pioneer Telephone, where he was known for his professionalism and dedication to serving customers. Ralph also fulfilled his entrepreneurial spirit by owning several Fantastic Sam's salons. No matter where life led him, he was respected for his integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to build lasting relationships.

Outside of work, Ralph's greatest passions included horses and German Shepherd dogs. He was an accomplished exhibitor whose champion German Shepherds earned recognition and admiration. In a touching reflection of the special bond they shared, his beloved dog, Bully, passed away only hours before Ralph, as if unwilling to be separated from his faithful companion.

Ralph will be remembered as a kind, hardworking, intelligent, and generous man who loved his family, cherished lifelong friendships, and lived each day with quiet strength and dignity. Whether in his career, his military service, his love for animals, or his relationships with others, Ralph lived a life marked by character, compassion, and faithfulness. His legacy of service, determination, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love him.
