Obituary

Mary Garrett passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at the Countrywood Assisted Living Center in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Mary was born on February 7, 1934 on the family farm near Omega, Oklahoma to Edward and Elsie (Telgemeir) Opdenhoff. She graduated from Omega School in 1952. She moved to Kingfisher and worked at J.C. Penney's. Mary married Marvin Garrett on October 17, 1954, at the Federated Church in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. After her children were older she worked at the Delvin Jech Agency and Kingfisher County Treasurer. She retired from the treasurer's office in 1985. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Eastern Star.

Mary is survived by three children: Cheryl Ryan of Kingfisher, OK; Mike Garrett and wife Sally of Whitesboro, TX; and Sandy Kramer and husband Rodney of Loyal, OK. She had six grandchildren: Jeff Ryan and wife Sara of Piedmont, OK; Kristin Price and husband Justin of Mustang, OK; Parker and Preston Garrett of Whitesboro, TX; Sheila Kramer of Yukon, OK; and Randy Kramer and wife Chrystal of Loyal, OK; also three great-grandchildren, Trevor and Teagan Price and Garrett Ryan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, Pauline Carpenter, two brothers, Harold and Leonard and son-in-law Don Ryan.

Mary would like any memorials to be made to the First Christian Church.
