Manuel Roy Crook, Jr., 86, of Kingfisher, passed away on Tuesday, November 27 at the Oklahoma City Heart Hospital after a persisting condition.

Junior, as most people knew him, was born on March 6, 1932, in Elk City, Oklahoma, to Manuel Roy Crook, Sr. and Velma Rana (Hunt) Crook. Much of his early life was connected to country life and cotton farming. Even though he did not receive his high school diploma, he was smart in any number of ways and one of the hardest workers ever. Junior always called himself a route milkman, and his milk trade began in 1952 at Weibel's Dairy. Along the way, he also worked for Meadow Gold Dairy and finished his career at Gold Spot Dairy, serving as a supervisor for several years there before his retirement. Junior was known as a good neighbor, a friendly resident of Kingfisher, and an adventurer who loved to travel, even occasionally by motorcycle. He enjoyed watching the Oklahoma Sooners, hunting and fishing, golfing, water skiing, and gardening and canning. He loved his dogs, and his most recent dog, Brook, was a constant companion. Junior was a member of the Federated Church of Kingfisher and the Elks.

Junior was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, both parents, four sisters, and four brothers. He is survived by one sister, Blanche Wright, his four children, Debbie Lovell, Kent Crook, Cindy Schmiedeberg, and Laurie Westmoreland, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an animal adoption or protection program or a local church missions program.

The memorial service will be held at the Federated Church of Kingfisher on Saturday, December 1 at 10 a.m.
