Jodie Mozell
Eaton
Jan 18, 1923 — Jan 26, 2023
Jodie Mozell Smith was born in Shinewell OK January 18th, 1923, to Gaines and Carrie Belk Smith. She was the third of six children. She spent her early life and education years in southern Oklahoma. She met her future husband thru his cousin. She moved to the Big Four area and married T. J. Eaton on June 22, 1942. They were blessed with four children. They lived in the same area for 47 years until his passing in 1989 when she moved to Kingfisher.
She loved to cook, fish, bowl, play cards (really any kind of games) and play bingo. After graduating from Paul's beauty college, she was a hairdresser in the Kingfisher area for 34 years. She was a farmer's wife and an excellent cook. Up until four years ago, she would go to one of the grandkid's homes to make hot rolls for family dinners. She helped cook at Big 4 School, 4-H camp, and anytime her services were needed. She has lived in Cimarron Nursing home for the last 7 years where she participated in all activities and even helped plant tomatoes and peppers in the flower bed. She always had potted plants in her room and in the atrium. One of her prize flowers was a Christmas cactus that always bloomed at least twice a year.
She is being greeted in heaven by her parents, husband T. J., and siblings Leatha Weaver, Hazel Smith, Nell Hudson, Betty, and Jack Smith.
She is survived by her children Anita & Larry Long, Janis & Jack Lisle, Tommy & Trisha Eaton, and Mike & Sheila Eaton. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren Kristy, Jeff, Brian, Lisa, Misty, Melissa, Jason, Jamie, Shandra, Courtney, Kevin, Chris, Amanda, Dustin, Amber, Heather, and Quinton, twenty-six great-grandchildren; Blake, Anna, Austin, Donna, Christopher, Mackenzie, Andrew, Meghan, Thomas, Maria, Jeremiah, Breanna, Matt, Taylor, Kaycie, Braden, Jodie, Landon, Josh, Lillie, Haleigh, Kaden, Harlyn, Kolton, Blayne and Morgan, and four great-great-grandchildren Kailey, Emery, Carsen, and Greyson.
