Janice Susan Kottwitz lost her battle to pancreatic cancer on August 11, 2019 in her home of Kingfisher Oklahoma at 5:20 p.m.  She Was Born October 16, 1948 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  She was a middle child of 6 girls born to Christina and Leslie Richards.

Janice married Butch Kottwitz April 21, 2006. She leaves behind 3 wonderful children Andrea Denman and husband Nicholas, Michelle Leck and husband Joe, and Chadwick Story and his wife Candi. She also leaves 2 Step children, Morgan Winters and husband Wager and Bo Kottwitz and wife Jennifer.  We say step children but she claimed them as much as her own.  She loved all her children uncondtionally. Janice was a wonderful grandma and great grandma.  She leaves behind 12 grand children and 7 great grand children.  If you knew Janice you were her friend and you never left her without a hug. She lost one of her adoring sisters, Beverly Vokoun, to cancer, but leaves behind 4 beautiful others. Barbara Kroll, Parka Haigler, Jean Swanson and Carol Williams. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews

Janice had many friends, some she even called soul mates. She had an incredible way with people. She was a humble person and celebrated life everyday.  Janice was a blessed woman and she knew it.  She never forgot to thank God for everyone and everything in her life.  She lived life to the fullest all the way to the end.  She loved to plant flowers and travel with her husband.  He was her rock, the love of her life, and the joy in her heart.  Her heart was content.

She is preceded in death by her Parents Christina and Leslie Richards.  Her daughter Lisa Marie Story, and her sister Beverly Vokoun.
