Obituary

James Douglas Chapman lovingly known as Tooter by his family, 43 of Cashion, OK died September 6, 2018 as a result of a hemorrhagic stroke. He was born July 19, 1975 in Odessa, Texas.
He graduated Fort Stockton High School in Fort Stockton, Texas in 1993. After high school he served our great country in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawke. For the last several years James was an independent contractor where he created works of art with wood, he was a true craftsman and we will cherish his pieces of art.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Mack & Frances Yocham and Doug & Marion Chapman.
James is survived by his parents, Deborah & Jeff Willis of Cashion, OK., Thomas & Elizabeth Chapman of Fort Stockton, TX. He leaves behind his children Maleigha and Kaleigh Chapman of California & Justin Chapman of Texas. His sister Pamela Brooks of Cashion, OK and niece Ashley Brooks of Point Lookout, MO. As well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. James was a friend to all, never met a stranger, and had the sweetest heart for people. He leaves behind many friends far and wide who he loved as much as his family. He loved his navy brothers and was proud to have served with them.
To know James was to love him and if you were fortunate to be loved by him, he loved you big time and just the way you were.
As a family we are heartbroken, we loved this man beyond measure and are thankful to God for the years that we were given. We will greatly miss his gentle, easy going, fun loving, laid back spirit.
We would like to thank Oklahoma Heart Hospital North physicians, nurses, and support team for everything they did for James and our family.
