Jacquetta "Skeeter" Jeune Maxwell Glazier passed away at Kingfisher Hospital on the afternoon of December 18, 2020 at 81 years old. Skeeter leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly, and the impact she made while on this earth will be felt and seen for generations.

Skeeter was born to Verla (Crist) and Clyde Maxwell on May 24th, 1939 in the home of her aunt and uncle near Hitchcock, OK. Skeeter was raised on a farm at Loyal, OK with her parents and two sisters. She graduated from Loyal High School in 1957.

On August 31, 1957, Skeeter married the love of her life, Kermit "Cork" Russell Glazier Jr. and in doing so gained a second family that was very special to her for all her life. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before Cork's passing in 2008.

She began her career at TG&Y and later worked as a secretary for Shorty Hill & Son.

Together, Skeeter and Cork established a home in Kingfisher, OK where they raised their two daughters, Tamela "Tammy" and Joleta "Jody."

For years, Skeeter babysat local children in their home. Those children never forgot the care Skeeter provided and how welcome she made them feel. Even as adults, those she cared for sought her out and held her in high regard.

She later served Kingfisher Public Schools in the Superintendent's Office as financial secretary. She served the schools for 40 years and 'trained' several different superintendents.

Skeeter and Cork were lifelong members of the Kingfisher United Methodist Church and were especially blessed by the Disciples Sunday School class who became their closest and truest friends.

Skeeter loved to travel and explore. She especially enjoyed the annual "mystery trips" through Village Bus Tours and met many friends who returned to adventure together each year. She also enjoyed traveling with the "Salt & Pepper" group through the Kingfisher Methodist Church and the "Keenagers" group through the Kingfisher First Christian Church.

Skeeter served the community as a member of the Altrua Club, the Chisholm Trail Museum Board, the Kingfisher County Election Board, and as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Skeeter also enjoyed fellowship with friends through a long-standing pitch club and a book club.

Skeeter taught her children and grandchildren the importance of family and tradition. She taught her grandchildren a love of cards, Christmas candy, snowmen, and pancakes. Her family knew that when you were at "Granny's house," you were home. Her family was always welcome and she kept the pantry stocked with her grandkids in mind. Her family was always her first priority and she was especially proud of her 3 great-grandchildren.

Skeeter is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Verla (Crist) Maxwell, her husband Kermit "Cork" Glazier, and her brother-in-law Bill Pope. Together, they are rejoicing in Heaven and preparing to celebrate Christmas with Christ Himself.

Skeeter is survived by her daughters Tammy Mueggenborg and Jody Gooden; sons-in law Dennis Mueggenborg and John Gooden; grandchildren Tyler and Susan Mueggenborg, Dane Mueggenborg, Valerie and John Johnson, Macy and Evan Winters, and Aaron Gooden; great-grandchildren Maxwell Mueggenborg, Laura Johnson, and Kennedy Winters; her sisters Jacque Pope and Jaree Stehr; and brother-in-law Fred Stehr.

A family graveside service is to be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 11:00 am at Kingfisher Cemetery with plans for a public memorial service to be held when it is safe to gather. Details on the public memorial service will be made available at a later date. Services under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
