George Lee
Sullivan
Sep 15, 1936 — Jul 1, 2019
George Lee Sullivan passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on July 1, 2019.
He was born at home to Ettie Viola and Leonard Sullivan on September 15, 1936 in Loco, Oklahoma.
George was the oldest of eight children. He attended Mountain Home School all twelve grades. His junior and senior year of high school, he was a member of the 45th National Guard. After graduation, he worked in the oil field and helped attend to the family farm.
While working as a rough neck on drilling rigs, he met the love of his life at Oscar's Café' in Hennessey, Oklahoma in 1960. In 1961, he and Norma Jean Mauk were married in Dover, Oklahoma. They later became the proud parents of two sons-Bradford and Travis. George worked at Aero Commander and Dayton Tire in Oklahoma City until 1981, when he joined Norma in working as Tupperware distributors.
They retired from Tupperware after 12 years and opened four antique stores. This gave George the opportunity to do what he really loved—finding old things, fixing them and repairing anything he could find. Later, they enjoyed investing into real estate properties.
If George wasn't fixing something, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's various sporting events, hunting, fishing, snow skiing, watching Nascar, riding a John Deere, or driving a classic car. He and Norma were fortunate enough to travel the world and enjoy cruises with their many friends and family.
George is survived by his wife, Norma, their two sons Bradford and Travis, daughter-in-law Anna, their 7 grandchildren, Ethan, Kristina, Conner, Sarah, Trinity, Avery and Luke and 3 great grandchildren, Hunter, Aiden, Carter and one on the way, his brothers, Les, Joe, Tom, Ettie, Larry and his sister Faye.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and his sister Jane.
Funeral services will be Wednesday July 3, 2019 at 2PM at the Sanders Funeral Chapel, 124 E Broadway, Kingfisher, OK 73750.
