Franklin Glen Farrar passed away on January 18, 2025, surrounded by his family at home in Dover, Oklahoma, at the age of 67.

He was born on October 20, 1957, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to Frank and Flora Belle (Pyle) Farrar. Franklin graduated from Dover High School in 1976. He married Kimberly Sue "Kim" Barnes on December 7, 1979, in Dover, Oklahoma. They were married for 45 years and had three children.

Franklin worked in pipeline construction for most of his life at Farrar Construction, operating various types of equipment and serving as a construction superintendent. He owned and operated Franklin's Backhoe Service for 10 years before returning to Farrar Construction. He retired from in 2023 due to illness.

Over the years, Franklin enjoyed several hobbies, including bull riding, drag racing, bow hunting, archery competitions, and farming. He was a community leader, coaching Little League baseball, which he loved, for many years. He served on the Dover City Council and was mayor for several years. He received the Oklahoma Governor's Humanitarian Award for meritorious service for his relief efforts after the May 1999 tornado. Franklin shared his love of farming with his father and spent most weekends and vacation days working with his family on the farm. He was a devoted husband, father, and Poppa/Pa.

Franklin is survived by his wife, Kim; son Adam Farrar of Hennessey; daughter Becky Edge and husband, Dan, of Oklahoma City; son Ethan Farrar and wife, Payton, of Crescent; and five beloved grandchildren, Ryker, Addie, Archer, Chance, and Collins. He is also survived by his mother, Flora Belle Farrar of Dover; brothers Dwayne Farrar and wife, Wynn, of Kingfisher; and Edwin and wife, Cari, of Guthrie; sister-in-laws Beth Seifried and husband,Marty; Bonita McCoy; Renee Clark and husband, Steve; uncles, John Farrar and Glen Pyle and many nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Farrar; paternal grandparents, Milton and Elizabeth Farrar; and maternal grandparents, Glen Pyle and Myrtle Curry.

His service will be held at the Dover Baptist Church on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with burial following at the Dover Cemetery. Viewing for the public will be on Wednesday, January 22nd, from 9AM-4PM, at Sanders Funeral Service in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
