Duane John Fike was born on September 26, 1934 in Okeene. He passed away on September 3, 2020 at his home at the age of 85.
He served in the Korean War from 1954-1956 and received an honorable discharge from the Marines. He worked at Western Electric for 31 yrs as an installer. After his retirement he bought a farm west of Dover and started a tree service. He also bought and sold rent houses. In his off time he liked to hunt and fish.
Duane's first marriage produced two sons and one daughter, plus he welcomed one stepdaughter and one stepson. Duane married his second wife Laura Mulherin on April 5th, 1985. He welcomed one stepdaughter in that marriage.
He is preceded in death by his father Vernon Fike and mother Delphine Fike, and 5 brothers; William Fike, Jerome Fike, Robert Fike, Jimmie Fike, and David Fike.
He is survived by his wife Laura Fike of the home, brothers; Wayne Fike and wife June of Kingfisher, George Fike and wife Wynemia of Bethany, Reginald Fike and wife Sue of Yukon, Sister-in-law Gail Fike of Foley, Alabama, daughter Patricia Rother of Marshall, daughter Johanna Hull and husband Clerance of Lawton, Sons; Pat Fike and wife Cherri of Woodward,
Al Fike and wife Cindy of Woodward, Mike Fike of Woodward, stepdaughter Hope Poarch and husband Trey of Kingfisher, 14 grandchildren and 34 greatgrandchildren.
A wake service will be held on Monday, September 7th at 7:00 pm at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, September 8th at 10:30 am at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church with internment to follow at Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
