Geraldine D. Tomah, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

She was born on June 5, 1934, in Kingfisher, OK, to James and Luella Darland.

She had one brother, Dr. James Darland Jr.

She was a graduate of Big Four High School in 1951. Following high school, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Central State University. She had a successful career as an Educator for over 40 years in Ft. Still, OK and the Navajo Indian Reservation in Chinle, AZ.

She married Kent O. Tomah Sr., on April 16, 1954 in Kingfisher.

She attended the Church of God Seventh Day where she taught children's classes. She was an inspiration to others with her tireless dedication to the education profession. Her faith was expressed through the kindness she showed to others, including the many children she provided a second home for on the reservation. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with.

Geraldine is survived by her five children, Kent O. Tomah Jr. and his wife Juanita of Alamo, NM; Kelly J. Tomah Sr. and his wife Martha of Jenks, OK; LaTressa A. Waldrip and her husband Bruce of Plainview, TX; Michael D. Tomah and his wife Deborah of Gilbert, AZ; and Cynthia G. Williams her husband Rodney of Bernie, MO; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Sanders Funeral Chapel at 124. E. Broadway, Kingfisher, OK 73750. Flowers may be sent to Sanders Funeral Chapel
