Dorothy Ottilia Maehs Hallock passed peacefully from this life on May 31st, 2026. She was born December 2nd, 1948, to Joseph (Carlos Marion) Maehs and Mary Johanna Determan. She is survived by six siblings: Carol Woitchek, Betty Roberts, Gerry Mathias (Jim), Janis Bart (Mike), Mark Maehs (Deborah), and John Maehs.

Dorothy attended Sts. Peter and Paul Elementary School and graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1967. She attended the University of Oklahoma. She met Michael Joseph Hallock and they married on June 8th, 1968. They lived in various states, finally returning to Kingfisher for the rest of their lives. In 1988, she began a career as an Administrative Assistant at Tinker Air Force Base. She retired as a GS-12 Civilian Employee after 24 years, earning many honors for her service.

Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Mike loved and cherished all of their many nieces and nephews as their own children. Robin and Phil, Karl and Dayleen, Cherie and Ron, Fred and Helen, Dean and Portia, Joe and Ramona, Sam and Catherine, Dennis and Tracy, Barbara and Jim, Candy and Tim, Stephanie and Scott, Daniel and Erica, Lisa and George, Phillip and Christie, Ryan and Samanatha. She considered her neighbors JR, Sarah, and Josie her family as well.

Dorothy was a volunteer extraordinaire and a pillar of the Kingfisher community. She was very active in the Catholic Church, serving as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister, as well as a member and past President of the Parish Council. She was also the President of the Kingfisher Regional Hospital Trust Authority and an advisory board member of the Mercy Hospital's North Regional facilities, including Mercy Kingfisher, Watonga, and Logan County. She was a dedicated poll worker for numerous elections.

She was the glue that held the family together; hosting family gatherings and holiday celebrations, especially 4th of July! Dorothy made sure everyone was updated with all family news.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Clara, David, Jim, and an infant sister, Mary Ann.

Visitation for Dorothy will be Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 9am-5pm at Sanders Funeral Service.

A wake service will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, June 4th at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 5th at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Kingfisher Cemetery. Under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
