Obituary

Charles Joseph Liebl, 77, of Kingfisher, was called home by his Heavenly Father on January 10, 2020. He was born on February 4, 1942, in Kingfisher to Elmer and Marie (Hoener) Liebl.

Charlie grew up on a farm in Loyal and attended Loyal schools, graduating in 1960. After high school, he went to work for Aero Commander in Oklahoma City.

On July 14, 1962, he married Joyce Kay McAllister. Charlie started working for Pioneer Telephone Cooperative in 1970. He was promoted to local manager in Wakita, OK where he worked for 13 years. In 1983, Charlie was promoted and returned home to Kingfisher where he worked until his retirement in 2008.

Charlie's legacy will be his unwavering Christian faith, his devotion to his family, and his generous spirit. He was known for his work ethic and was given the nickname "Hustle" because he was always moving. He enjoyed having "sippin" parties with his friends, talking with his walking buddies, spending time outdoors and frequenting the casino.

Charlie's passions were farming, gardening, and his love for his grandsons. When Cole and Cason were young, they thought their "Papa" hung the moon, but in reality "Papa" thought those boys hung the moon. He was so very proud of them.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce, of the home; three daughters, Debbie Schultz and husband Stan of Pond Creek; Sondra Liebl of Kingfisher, Char Matthews and husband Jaime and grandsons Cole and Cason of Kingfisher; siblings Tom Liebl and wife Barbara of Loyal, Garry Liebl and wife Theresa of Okarche, Martha Rother and husband Tom of Okarche, and Elmer Liebl, Jr., of Yukon and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
