Barbara Anne Leitner was born on July 6, 1940 to William Herbert Rigby and Ethel Elizabeth Stewart in Plainview, Texas and was called home on August 1, 2022 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma with loved ones by her side.

On December 17, 1962 Barbara married Garol Ray Leitner in Lockey, Texas and over a year later started their family in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. For many years Barbara worked as a Dietary Manager for a local nursing home, First Shamrock, where she expressed her love for the residents through delicious food, wonderful pastries, and her famous home made pies. At home, her kitchen was never closed as she enjoyed sharing her recipes with her children and grandchildren and making dishes and desserts for their various school functions. Barbara was a woman who stood firm in what she believed in and it is from her that her family learned to stay strong. But she was much more than a strong figure, she was a woman full of love.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Garol Ray Leitner, parents, William Rigby and Elizabeth Stewart and two sisters, Mary and June. She is survived by her daughter, Tonda Woodard and husband Rick of Osage City, Kansas, daughter Sonda Mitchell and partner Don Vogt of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Grandson Jonathan Mitchell and wife Melanie of Cashion, Oklahoma, granddaughter Rachelle Mitchell of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, sister in law Karen Mckinley of Edmond, Oklahoma, sister, Beth, 4 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Sanders Funeral Home, 124 E. Broadway Ave. Kingfisher, Oklahoma, on August 8, 2022 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
