Alice Lorrane
Mcalvain
Mar 18, 1947 — Dec 12, 2021
Alice Lorrane (Midge) McAlvain's lifelong dream came true on December 12, when she left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Midge was born to Harvie and Alice West of Leavenworth, Kansas on March 18, 1947. Midge settled into her spot as the 4th of 6 children. It was during the days of her childhood that she began to craft her signature sarcastic humor and wit. She always kept her sisters and brother on their toes. Her sisters, Barbara, Delores, Darlene and Hazel and her brother Bud were always there for each other growing up and especially later in life.
Kingfisher, Oklahoma can thank Jimmy Redwine for bringing the West clan to town. Jimmy married Delores and soon after the rest of the family followed. Barbara married Roy Lee Stevens, Darlene married Danny Brown, Midge married Johnny McAlvain, Bud married Vickie Stewart and Hazel married Gary Mullins. In short order they all came to live in Kingfisher. The 6 siblings' father, Harvie, had passed but their mother, Alice, also made the move to Kingfisher.
Midge had two sons, Sean and Chris. She worked at Pioneer Telephone for 30 years and eventually retired in 2012. Her first granddaughter, Lilia, was born in 2000. Her second granddaughter, Surrie, was born in 2012. Midge was known as "Gram-ma" to Lilia and "GaGa" to Surrie and nothing would ever bring her as much joy as when she was with her girls. Being a grandmother gave her pretty blue eyes a sparkle and her heart a joy that would never leave her.
On Sunday, December 12, 2021, Midge was welcomed to Heaven by her father and mother; sister, Delores; sister, Barbara and husband Roy Lee; brother, Bud; sister, Hazel and husband Gary; nephew, Derek and her son, Sean.
Midge is survived by many friends and family members. Her sister, Darlene and husband Danny; Son, Chris and wife Candice; granddaughters, Lilia and Surrie; sister-in-law, Vickie West; brother-in-law, Jimmy Redwine; her best friend, Bridget Keast; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Midge's mischievous smirk and playful sarcasm will be missed by all that were fortunate enough to have known her. Her love for her family and friends came second only to her love and devotion to the Lord.
A celebration of Midge's life will be 10:00am, Friday, December 17 at Church of the Nazarene, 414 Hill Dr. Kingfisher, OK 73750. Interment will follow at the Kingfisher Cemetery. Funeral Services are being handled by Sanders Funeral Service.
